Getting your kids to brush their teeth
Just like a heart healthy diet, brushing your teeth at least twice daily and flossing at least once a day is a good idea. Parents often struggle with this issue and have a hard time getting their kids to brush their teeth. The old trick of kids wetting their toothbrush so parents think they have brushed their teeth still happens. Typically, the only way to ensure that kids are brushing their teeth on a regular basis is to actually witness this. Sometimes this can be hard, especially when parents are too busy, too tired, or simply give up trying to teach their kids the importance of taking care of their teeth. Rather than parents begging and pleading, perhaps using other tools to encourage their kids may be a better option. This is where a book can be a great alternative.
Stories have the wonderful ability of making an impression on children. A very grateful mother explained how she was having quite the difficult time in getting her boys to brush their teeth. She tried everything, but no matter what, nothing seemed to work. She was at her wits' end and didn't know what to do. Then one day, she came across Miss Pearly White and bought it. She said that reading this book to her boys was the best thing ever because it worked! The story made such an impression on her boys that they began brushing their teeth regularly on their own. Ah! The power of a book!
